Soulkut

Origin France Born in 1982 in Lyon, France, Soulkut made its ranges on a classical piano at the age of 5. Early interested by black music (Jazz, Hip Hop, Funk and Reggae) he focused on Jazz and soon integrated a Hip Hop crew as a graffer and dancer in 1995. However, he rapidly experienced Turntablism, (what an important discovery for him it was), and ended up the year as the main DJ of the crew named Sabotage. Joining a hip hop band, two years later, they created a hip hop show and started a tour in France during the summer break. Thanks to his talent and the people he met during the tour, Soulkut started Djing alone for parties in clubs. He had the chance to mix with raising DJ´s from Lyon, Marseille and Paris like Poska or Cut Killer for instance. In 2003, Soulkut gathered some friends to develop a crew, called 800 Industrie, with singers, breakdancers, DJs and graffers, in charge of promoting and broadcasting new talents in the area of Lyon. They released 3 volumes of Piment Rouge (1000 specimens sold), and they also made a compilation called AOP (Atteinte à l´Ordre Public) with other artists from Lyon. Soulkut has also produced some tracks of the last album of the French rapper K.NAI. Today, Soulkut is working more on personal projects, a mix between Hip Hop and electro music, mainly inspired by Fatboyslim, Talib Kweli, and Trip Hop style. Despite the fact that Soulkut loves composing, his biggest wish would be to come back on stage to share his music with electro fans. Soulkut - Cold Winter mix Pictures : + Website
